Moyie, BC Winter Wedding Photographer - Shelly-Anne + Colden
As a photographer, every wedding is a unique journey. Shelly-Anne and Colden's wedding in Moyie, BC, was no exception. Their love story is one of adventure and embracing new experiences, which was beautifully reflected in their special day.
Shelly-Anne, originally from Jamaica, fell in love with Colden and all the new adventures he introduced her to in Canada. Colden, a Canadian with a passion for snowmobiling, ensured that their wedding day would be unforgettable, blending elements of their different backgrounds into a harmonious celebration.
The day began quietly, with Shelly-Anne preparing for the ceremony. The setting, a picturesque private home in Moyie, provided a cozy and intimate atmosphere for their nuptials. The ceremony itself was a blend of indoor and outdoor elements, with the couple and the officiant braving the crisp winter air to exchange heartfelt vows.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was when Colden surprised Shelly-Anne by bringing out his snowmobile for some unique wedding photos. Seeing the radiant bride, Shelly-Anne, confidently holding on to a snow machine was a sight to behold, capturing the essence of their adventurous spirit and love for each other.
Adding to the magical ambiance of the day, the talented singers "The Parsons" provided a musical backdrop that elevated the entire experience. Their voices echoed through the snowy landscape, creating a truly unforgettable atmosphere.
As the day came to a close, it was clear that Shelly-Anne and Colden's wedding was not just a celebration of their love, but also a testament to their willingness to embrace new experiences and create lasting memories together. It was an honor to capture their special day and witness the beginning of their new chapter as husband and wife.

Kimberley Alpine Resort + Trickle Creek Golf Course Wedding Photographer - Kimberley, BC
Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Kimberley Alpine Resort in Kimberley BC provided the perfect backdrop for Chris and Marisa's lively and vibrant wedding celebration. Chris, a charming Englishman, and Marisa, a feisty Latina, brought together their cultures and personalities to create a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
The day began with the bride and groom getting ready in separate lodges, surrounded by their closest friends and family. Marisa's infectious laughter filled the air as she prepared for her big day, while Chris and his groomsmen enjoyed a relaxed morning.
The ceremony took place outdoors, with the stunning mountain landscape of Trickle Creek Golf Course as a backdrop. Marisa looked stunning in her gown, her dark hair cascading down her shoulders, while Chris looked dashing in his tailored suit. As they exchanged vows, their love shone brightly.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the lodge's terrace, soaking in the breathtaking views of the Rockies. The reception was a lively affair, with guests dancing to a mix of English and Latin music.
As the sun set behind the mountains, Chris and Marisa shared their first dance, surrounded by their loved ones. It was a magical moment, and one that they will cherish forever.

Cranbrook, BC Helicopter Family Session Photographer
Where are all my aviation nerds! Photography + Aviation are my two greatest loves (aside from my family of course). So when the two collide, I’m in heaven! We have two amazing helicopter companies we work with to bring these magical sessions together. This one was with Eclipse Helicopters and let me tell you, these kids had a blast as we landed up near one of Cranbrook, BC’s most iconic peaks - the mighty Mount Fisher. Have you ever hiked up there? After doing it twice myself, I think I enjoyed the express way instead.

Sweet, elegant, simple. All words I would use to describe this day. The mellow vibe of the bride and groom could be felt from the moment I walked through the door. Their connections were natural and unforced, and anyone standing by could feel the love these to have for each other emanating through their skin. I couldn't possibly be more honoured to have been chosen to capture this union.

I'm going to be honest...overly posed family portraits make me want to cry. In fact, I fail to even see the point of them. Why dish out hundreds of dollars to have someone provide you a false memory? Lets face it, it's all an illusion. Those types of photos are not an accurate representation of your family. When I started getting into family portraits my immediate instinct was to "give the people what they wanted", which I thought was stiffly posed portraits that Grandma and Grandpa would love! But as time has gone b,y I've noticed myself unconsciously evolving my workflow so that I try and get those "posey" shots out of the way to have more time for the candid moments with parents and their children. At first I wasn't sure how people would react when they saw that there was only a handful of "grandma" shots in their proofing gallery, but then it dawned on me that the work I post on social media has allowed the type of people who want those sorts of memories to find me, and in turn, for me to find them. The newly famous quote "your vibe attracts your tribe" actually has a lot of truth to it! I feel like I can offer more then just "family photos" now. I feel like I can offer a real memory, a real connection. You cannot deny that when you look at this mothers eyes as she gazes at her children's faces that you don't absorb a true sense of how deeply she loves her babies.
I hope you enjoy watching this beautiful family play in the woods as much as I enjoyed shooting it
xoxo Lucy
